To promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.
China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.
Now, 289 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, legal studies, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts for scholarship recipients at all levels.

Bilateral Program(Type A)
The program accords with the cooperation and exchange agreements or consensus reached by the Chinese government and the governments and institutions of other nations. It is open to undergraduates, postgraduates, general and senior scholars.
An applicant shall file an application with the dispatching department of their home countries.
How to apply for Type A Pre-admission Letter:
1. Before submitting your application, please verify with the dispatching department of your home country that you are eligible to apply for this scholarship category.

For undergraduate programs applicant, please notice that only Chinese-taught undergraduate programs are opened for CSC Type A application. Please note that for our undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, and Food Quality and Safety, the Chinese-language requirement is HSK Level 5; for all other Chinese-taught undergraduate programs, the requirement is HSK Level 4.

Scholarship Eligibility
Be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.
Be a bachelor’s degree holder with an excellent academic performance under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs.
Be a master’s degree holder with an excellent academic performance under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
Have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 5 with a score of 180 and up when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs. Applicants who have previously earned a degree from a Chinese university where Chinese was the medium of instruction may submit a “Medium of Instruction Certificate” issued by that university, once approved by our university, the HSK score report could be waived.
Have acquired the English proficiency of TOEFL with a score of 80 and above or IELTS with a score of 6.0 and above when applying for English-taught master’s or doctoral programs. Applicants who have previously earned a degree from a university or institution where English was the medium of instruction may submit a “Medium of Instruction Certificate” issued by that university or institution, once approved by our university, the English proficiency test score report could be waived. Native English speakers or applicants from countries where English is an official language may also be exempted from submitting English proficiency test scores upon approval by our university.

Application Materials
1. Copy of Passport Home Page.
If the validity of the applicant’s current passport doesnot meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2026), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;
2. Notarized Highest Diploma.
Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
3. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards).
Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;
4. Language qualification certificates.
Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for other language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates, like IELTS or TOFEL report;
5. Acceptance letter
Applicant can contact with supervisors and get acceptance letter before submit application on ZJUT website, and have it stamped by the major college.

6. A study plan proposal.
A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words; the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor.
7. Recommendation letters.
Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad.
8.Example of art.
To apply for majors related to art or design, applicants could submit their own works in the system.
8. Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.
9. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant).
The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.
10. Non-Criminal Record report.
The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
Application Procedure
1. The applicants login the application system of Zhejiang University of Technology (https://zjut.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) to choose the Chinese Government Scholarship - Type B High Level Graduate Program, complete the online application, upload the application materials;

2. The university will conduct a preliminary review of applicants’ materials.
3. Due to the limited number of nomination places, after the application deadline, the university will select candidates from those who have passed the preliminary review of materials, and issue pre-admission letters to the selected applicants.
4. The applicants login CSC application system (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login), fill in the Chinese government scholarship application form online and submit "Pre-admission letter" other required application materials;
5. The university will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the students who have submitted scholarship applications in the CSC application System, and determine the recommendation list (5) to submit to the China Scholarship Council;
6. The CSC system will announce the admission result after the CSC has confirmed the candidates for the scholarship, and the applicants can log in the system to check by themselves; The school will send the admission notice and materials to the applicant.

4. The university will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the students who have submitted scholarship applications in the CSC application System and determine the recommendation list to submit to the China Scholarship Council.
5. The CSC system will announce the admission result after the CSC has confirmed the candidates for the scholarship, and the applicants can log in the system to check by themselves; The school will send the admission notice and materials to the applicant.
